Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15 1960) was an American actor. Angela Evelyn is an American actress. Bassett originates from New York New York. She was born in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett and her sister, at the age of five old, made the move away from the city of their birth to St. Petersburg to live with their mother, who was the divorced father. When she was in high school Bassett watched John Steinbeck's drama Of Mice and Men starring James Earl Jones and decided that she wanted to become an actor. She was a student at Yale University New Haven Connecticut and graduated with a bachelor's degree (1980) in African American studies and a master's degree (1983) from the Yale School of Drama. Courtney B. Vance was also an actor at Yale. They married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Master of Arts (Afro-American studies) in 1980. A Master of Fine Arts (Drama) from Yale School of Drama School.
